JPDC Classical Ballet Associates

A classical ballet associate scheme for dancers ages 8-18, designed to compliment their existing classes by providing extra training in technique, pointe work, and conditioning. Small classes, individual attention always.

Entry Requirements

​

Age between 8 and 18 years of age, school year 5+. Entry by application only.

Programme Length

​

A one year programme with classes on Sundays. Six sessions per term.

Associate Programme Overview

Joanne Penner Dance Coaching Junior, Mid, and Senior Classical Associates.

​

This scheme is designed to help inspire and support young dancers towards vocational training and a future career. JPDC is dedicated to helping students gain both experience and confidence in their classical ballet work by providing unique opportunities to learn repertoire and variations alongside unset ballet classes, pre-pointe and pointe work, and conditioning.
 
Our approach to training is personalised and attentive, encouraging dancers to push themselves, develop their technique, learn new things, and have fun!

 

Junior Associates - approx 9-11yrs

Mid Associates - approx 11-13yrs

Senior Associates - approx 13+yrs

Students will be placed where they are deemed to be most appropriately suited taking into account both age and ability.


JPDC Classical Associates runs on six Sundays per academic term, designed to effectively complement dancers weekly training at their local dance schools. Places in the programme are offered following application and for one year only. Current students will be assessed for re-entry the following year in the summer term.

How to Apply

1. Take the required application photos and have them ready.

2. Fill out the associates application form by Friday 5th June.

3. Offers will be announced the week commencing 8th June.

Paid in three instalments across the academic year.

JPDC Classical Associates has a specific uniform only available to buy from our suppliers. Details are provided to successful candidates.

*We reserve the right to make changes to term dates and fees as necessary throughout the year.

Further Information

JPDC Classical Associates includes (separately for each level) an unset ballet class and one shorter class focusing on a different element essential to dance training - this may include pointe work, performance rehearsals, professional repertoire, stretch and conditioning, solo coaching.​​

 

Associates will be invited on trips to see professional ballets throughout the year, experience specialist guest teacher workshops, and have the opportunity to perform in an annual showcase.​​​

 

Upon acceptance into the scheme further information regarding fees, uniform, and other necessary details will be emailed to all parent and guardians.​​
