Pre-Vocational Training Programme
TO BE WHO YOU ARE AND TO BECOME WHAT YOU ARE CAPABLE OF IS THE ONLY GOAL WORTH LIVING.
ALVIN AILEY
At JPDC we provide a unique pre-vocational training programme, offering more extensive training to those hoping to audition for vocational (pre-professional) training at either 16 or 18 years old.
By emphasising excellent classical ballet training as the foundation of our pre-vocational curriculum, we provide a strong foundation for dancers technical and artistic development. Weekly training consists of syllabus and unset ballet training, pointe work, 1-1 coaching, contemporary dance and flexibility and conditioning with JPDC - as well as frequent examination, performance and competition opportunities. All dancers on the pre-vocational programme are also encouraged to partake in associate schemes such as The Royal Ballet School, English National Ballet, and Central School of Ballet. The JPDC Pre-Vocational Programme therefore provides a thoroughly considered training route that covers all the essential components for cultivating a technically strong and versatile dancer.
This pathway is currently available for dancers from school year 7 and upwards, please get in touch to find out more.
